Tech Standards?

The International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE®) is the premier nonprofit organization serving educators and education leaders committed to empowering connected learners in a connected world. ISTE serves more than 100,000 education stakeholders throughout the world.

That's what it says on their about page, and it goes on to describe their mission, which includes positioning themselves as the steward of education tech standards.

How can these standards tie in to the arts? Do they make sense in juxtaposition with arts education?

Computer Science for All!

The district announced in December that Computer Science was to become a Core subject. But is this the right step? the right time? Are we addressing the right issues by requiring computer science courses at both the Elementary and High School level?

Podcast listening has grown considerably in the last two years, though it still only hits a minority of Americans.  According to Pew Research survey data from summer 2012, 18% of U.S. adults listened to a news podcast downloaded to their computer, tablet, cellphone or mp3 player at least sometimes, twice that of 2010.⁴
